The WriYe Blogging Circle – January
The year is 2015, and I have so many plans I wasn’t really sure where to start with this blog post.
But the WriYe blogging circle asked for one main goal, so that is what I’ve had to focus on.
This year my goal is to write every day. I’m using 750words.com to track this. So really, my goal is to write 750 words a day, as a minimum. It doesn’t matter what it is that I write, whether it be prose or world building or brain storming about an idea. It doesn’t matter how tired I am, or how busy. I have to get my butt on my chair and write those 750 words.
Why? Because I believe that one of the best things I can do to improve my writing at this point is to practice it consistently. Even if that consistency is only a small amount a day, it keeps me in practice. It keeps my projects moving.
The blogging circle has also asked us to come up with a mantra for the year. Mine is this: One day at a time.
After all, all I really have control over at this precise moment is what I do today. I’ll take tomorrow when it gets here.
