2015’s Projects

2015 is a big year for me. I’m out of full-time education for the first time since I started Primary school. I’m working my first full-time job. I’m living away from home and, for the first time, I’m seriously considering my long term future.

With all of this comes rather more goals and plans than I wrote about in my post last week. While the focus of that post was to pick one thing to really work on this year, I wanted to make a list of the various things that I would like to get done between now and 2016. I’m very fond of lists, and having one posted somewhere gives me a sense of accountability.

Writing Related

  1. Write 750 words per day, minimum. I have elaborated on this in a previous post.
  2. Complete the first drafts of the first two books in the ‘Spirited Prey’ series. (Urban fantasy.)
  3. Complete first drafts of two short stories in the ‘Cicada’ series. (Science Fiction.)
  4. Write at least one blog post per week.
  5. Read for at least fifteen minutes each day.
  6. Read and review at least one book per month.

  1. Retain my current job after the 6 month probationary period.
  2. Continue learning how to crochet.
  3. Complete 4 large crochet projects. This will most likely include two blankets and two jumpers.
  4. Make a successful trip to America to visit my very good friend, Elizabeth Sade.

I think you can scrath off number 4 from the other list, Elizabeth talked about the visit with you on her blog πŸ˜€ That’s how I found yours.

How are the other goals for 2015 going so far? And were do you find the time to and write and read and blog and work ;D

Hello! I can indeed scratch off number 4. I have a draft post in progress all about the trip. πŸ™‚ (Spoiler: it was awesome.)

Other goals for this year are here and there. I plan to do an update post at the end of April, and again every four months. The projects I’m working on have changed a bit, but the ‘Other’ goals are mostly on track.

As for how I find the time, I actually plan to make a blog post about this very thing. But in short, it’s a case of having a schedule for each week. I work 35 hours, and try to either write or read a bit in my lunch break/any downtime I have there. I schedule in my reading, writing and blogging time in the evenings/weekends, and everything else gets to work around that. πŸ˜€

Oh cool I do want to read about your trip. Elizabeth mentioned it was awesome

  3. Jill says:

Okay part two of my comment is gone :/. So what I was saying is that you should posts your photos when the jumpers and blankets are done, my mom loves seeing stuff like that.
Ah planning, and here I thought you were all vampires that dont need sleep. At least that is what a friend of mine said πŸ˜€ She also writes, mostly fanfics for now.

I wish I didn’t need sleep! Life would definitely be a lot more productive with an extra few hours to play with. xD
I’ll be making a post hopefully next week with the first finished blanket of the year. I think I’m looking at four blankets, rather than three and a jumper. They’re just so soothing to make. πŸ™‚

  4. […] in January, I made a post setting out my goals and projects for the year. I’m going to go through them one at a time, […]
